Our Vision

Is to provide an atmosphere where everyone is accepted, challenged, and led through discipleship and encouragement, to make right choices and live a life honoring to God. Street Church is a safe place for students - no matter what their background looks like. We want them to ask questions, have fun, learn how to tackle real-life issues, and explore faith.

Our Mission

Is to come alongside teens who desire to be trained to use their lives to share the hope found in Christ with those who don't yet know Him -- at home, at school, and throughout the world. To create a community where teens encounter a welcoming and friendly environment to grow; where it is fun and safe to follow Christ's example of generosity, humility, and sacrifice. To move students away from selfishness toward selflessness by providing opportunities to serve the church, and their community.

Our Story

Street Church is a faith-based ministry that has been operating in the greater Dallas area since 1983.  We seek to change the quality of life for young people and their families by creating a spiritual connection , educational support, and economic opportunities.

Founded by Irma “Cookie” Rodriguez nearly three decades ago, Cookie Rodriguez has been at the forefront of Dallas' efforts to combat the devastating effects of gang life and drug abuse on teens. Her renowned impact on the city of Dallas has earned praise from City Hall and the Dallas Police Department

She is the author of two books, "Please Make Me Cry" and "Cookie". She has 6 years experience as a teen challenge counselor; 10 years as a director of New Life for Girls, (a residential drug treatment center for girls); 11 years as a counselor/speaker for International Prison ministry; 10 years as a volunteer for Texas Youth Commission; 20+ years as founder/director of Street Church Nu Life(D-Boy) Ministries.

D-Boy Ministries is dedicated to her son Danny Rodriguez known as D-Boy. He died on October 6th of 1990 at the age of 22. The gifted Puerto Rican poet rapped about gang life and his faith in God. He was a counselor and tutor at Street Church Academy; a high school accredited ministry started for teens. Dallas Police Department declared the case to be robbery motive or mistaken identity. Danny case is still left unsolved but his name continues to live on.

D-Boy is remembered as a man of God and a hip hop talent. Many times D-Boy is mentioned in the credits of Christan hip hop albums as an inspiration and example. It was until March 2006 that a tribute album was released called "The Fallen Soldier Compilation : A Tribute To D-Boy" and features artists like: Dynamic Twins, IDOL King, Fred Lynch from P.I.D., Lingo, Heata and others.
